In this lesson we will look at the Viennese
Waltz. This is slightly different to a regular jazz waltz. It has a
slightly faster tempo range, and is felt in 1 rather than 3. It also
has a repetitive syncopated rhythm on the snare drum.
Start by taking the regular waltz pattern on the ride..
Next add the standard waltz foot pattern between bass drum and hihat..
From here play a snare note on the 3rd triplet of beat 1, and also on beat 3..
And that's a basic Viennese waltz!
