In this lesson we will look at a chop building exercise that uses triplets, and focuses on each hand individually.

Single hand exercises like this are a great way to identify any potential problems in your technique, whilst also finding your maximum threshold for each hand. Remember you can only evenly play as fast as your weak hand!

The exercise is as follows:

3 triplets per hand change
4 "
5"
6"
9"
12"

As you will see in the video above, you get some really interesting cross phrases when you play the 4 and 5 rhythms within triplets.
